Company
The outdoor half of the home never got smart.
Inside the house, a thermostat became a platform. Outside, the yard is still run by a timer from 2006 and four companies who've never met. Bluberry is building the control layer that the outdoors never got.
Vision
We're building the Smart Yard.
Chemigation is the wedge — a real problem with a clear buyer and a patented, cheap-to-install answer. It isn't the ceiling. The same layer that decides when to inject a treatment can eventually reason about irrigation efficiency, lawn health, pest pressure, garden zones, and every other outdoor system on the property.
The company that owns that layer isn't selling sprinkler hardware. It's helping define how residential outdoor care gets purchased, delivered, and managed.
- Start with chemigation. Automated lawn and pest treatment through existing irrigation.
- Expand to the yard. Irrigation intelligence, lawn health, garden zones, outdoor systems.
- Become the layer. The connective tissue between homeowners, service companies, and treatment providers.
Why now
Three things had to be true at once.
The infrastructure exists
Tens of millions of homes already have an in-ground irrigation system — a pressurized distribution network reaching every zone, sitting idle as a delivery channel.
The labor math changed
Service businesses built on trucks, routes, and door-to-door sales are under real cost pressure. Anything that decouples account growth from route growth is valuable.
The architecture is protected
Communicating over the existing sprinkler wire is what makes the retrofit economical — and it's covered by an issued U.S. patent through 2044.
Investors
Where we are.
- Technology: working prototype.
- IP: U.S. Patent 12,336,530, "Chemigation system," granted June 24, 2025. Anticipated expiration April 2044.
- Model: B2B2C through pest control, lawn care, irrigation, and landscaping partners, plus a direct-to-homeowner path.
- Next: first installation sites and a founding group of trade partners.
If you invest in hardware-enabled services, connected home, or the trades, we're happy to walk you through the architecture and the model.
The name
Why "bluberry"?
Look at a sprinkler running at dusk and you see it: thousands of small blue drops arcing over the grass. That's the whole idea of the company in one image — what falls on your lawn isn't just water anymore. The spelling is deliberate. The droplets are the berries.
Team
Built by people who've been in the valve box.
Bluberry was founded by the inventors of the chemigation architecture it's built on.
Team bios are being finalized. For company background or founder introductions in the meantime, email hello@bluberry.io.
